New Zealand Travels – 7 Days – Live – Review
Happy October! September flew by quickly and now it’s almost time for the great holidays! I can’t wait!
It was the last few days before our family would expand. We decided to go out on a limb and see the final tour that 7 Days had before two became three. Although we knew it would be close to the due date, we planned to go anyways. Even if the chances of going into birth was possible, we said, why not? The drive to and from will be just long enough for me to make it to the hospital in time if we needed. And so, we got the tickets for our last minute trip.
On the morning of September 20th, we drove down to Wellington knowing it’ll be a 6-7 1/2 hour drive (not including traffic, or driving behind slow drivers/tourist drivers). We had the car ready with baby’s car seat attached and both our bags for the hospital, if needed. We made sure we were prepared. At 38 weeks pregnant, anything was possible!
The drive down south to Wellington was beautiful. The sun was shining, the weather conditions were great, the traffic hasn’t started yet with morning rush hour. We were on our way. On our way to our last little getaway. Apologies, the photo quality isn’t great (I left the camera at home, so for now iPhone camera photos will do). If you’re into scenic routes, I would say this trip will be for you. Of the many times that we have driven from Hamilton down to the south, you can notice the change of landscape and scenery.
Although a majority of the ride down from the Waikato region to the south is mainly farm lands, I will say it’s by far the most beautiful views I’ve seen so far. This is what New Zealand is really known for. Vast green land with mountains in the background. What more could you ask for? With spring weather being here, I’m waiting for more floral blossoms to come about so I can show you how colorful it gets here.
By the time we got to Wellington, it was just past 3pm. We quickly found our hotel, checked in and went out for lunch/early dinner before the show started. We stayed at Quest, Petone, Wellington. The room we stayed at was pleasant, clean, and just enough for a few nights stay. The area was peaceful and had secure parking beside/under the building, although space was limited. Located near the main strip you can find shops/restaurants just around the corner with enough places to see and things to do.
With the New Zealand elections around the corner of the end of September – 7 Days, New Zealand TV Series had an election’s special show, if you’re not familiar with it, find more information about the show here. I’ve never been to a live comedy show, let alone a live recording for any show and because this was my first one I would say it was great! Better than great! It was awesome, funny, and well worth the drive.
The recording of 4 hours was amazing and full of laughter. There wasn’t a dull moment, and even when they had to record over again, it was even better than the first time around. They had guests from the Maori party, Green party, Top party, and Act party present. Boy, were the attacks on the guests brutal! You have to be there to see it all, because the amount of recording that does take place doesn’t make it onto public television.
With the amount of laughing that took place, I’m surprised I didn’t go into labor that night! Good news though! We made it back home safely and didn’t have to worry about baby arriving until early Friday the 22nd around 1:30am! Soon two became three, and even if the number has changed we plan to go on even more as baby gets older!
If you ever get the chance to see one of 7 Day’s shows on tour, I say do it! Take a friend, family, and or significant other. It’s well worth the watch and the laughter. Laughter brings everyone closer together!
Until the next adventure,
Much love, xo.
Any support, share, and love, is much appreciated!
